Add Multiple Image Upload Tool to your Site in Just 3 Minutes!

kick it on DotNetKicks.com

At idle moments, some folks (Alex and Fedor) here at Aurigma have created a cool image upload control for ASP.NET - big thanks to them! I just thought that the ASP.NET control deserves much more attention than it gets :) So I recorded this short video to show how emebedding Image Uploader into your web site can be easy when using Visual Studio.

If you want to play with this control, download Image Uploader package. It includes this control and demo apps demonstrating how to use it.

If you don't like the quality of the YouTube video (below), you can download a HIGH QUALITY VIDEO (35MB) HERE (BOX.NET).

therein, you will find the links to the ASP.NET control files.

Another question is: where does the image I upload are stored?

Hello Joan,

Error 500 means some server-side exception in the code which processes the upload. It is supposed that this code is written by you (this is an answer where images are stored - it is completely up to you). Perhaps this part was omitted in Max's movie for brevity... Smile So I think you should go further and examine this article for more details on how to use the control:

www.aurigma.com/.../...ploader-ASPNET-Control.aspx

As for error 500, may be caused by different reasons - lacking permissions to save files into an appropriate folder, some bug in ASP.NET code which saves files, etc. To troubleshoot the problem try to debug. This article may help:

www.aurigma.com/.../DebuggingServerScripts.htm

This article is written for using pure Image Uploader (without ASP.NET wrapper), but I believe you will get a clue how to debug it anyway.

If you still have problems, I recommend to post a message on Image Uploader forum.

Hi
I have a problem:
this is the error I'm receiving:

"
Following files are not found in '' directory on server: ImageUploader5.cab, ImageUploader5.jar, iuembed.js

You can set up ScriptsDir property to specify the directory containing these files or place the files from Image Uploader SDK package into this directory
"

what did i miss and what should i do to overcome it?
thanks!
